Google Pixel - Really unlimited photo storage?

So Google and Verizon are advertising the new Pixel 2, with unlimited high-resolution photo storage. Sounds exciting, right?! However, there's a catch that most people don't seem to know about, or seem to really care about. While having high-res photos is great and ideal, you have to ask yourself and wonder. Do you really need them? Do you really use them? Or does the regular 'original' quality suffice for your needs and usage? Can you really tell the difference? Unless your a professional photographer, and use the high resolution photos to print wall-sized photos to hang up, I don't think so.

Most of us just use our photos to share across social media, in texts, or in emails. We aren't a part of marketing firms to publish displays for clients, the 'original' 16-megapixel resolution does just fine for our everyday lives.

So that catch I was talking about, and you can find it almost all over the internet form various sources, including CNET. You can get the Pixel 2 from Google on Verizon, but the 'unlimited photo storage' at the high resolution is only until 2020, then after that all the photos are saved (still unlimited storage) at the 16-megapixel rate.

Just something to think about with all these companies advertising all these 'cool' features on their devices, products, and the like... there's also some catch somewhere. So consumer beware! Be informed!
Don't get my wrong, I love Google and Verizon, and I'm not trying to bring them down, the purpose was to open your mind! Think outside the box and don't always just initially believe what you hear, read, or see on TV, social media, the internet, and the like.
